With June 2015 bringing with it a severe heat wave which took the lives of more than 2,000 citizens in southern Pakistan, Getz Pharma launched a heat wave relief camp in the vicinity of its plant in Korangi, Karachi on May 20, 2016 to help prevent a similar catastrophe.
Through this CSR initiative, awareness sessions, cold drinking water, shelter, basic medicines, and a cool and comfortable place were arranged for the general public especially the toiling laborers, who spend their days working under the scorching sun. More than 100 people have availed these facilities and received a welcome respite from the sun.
