Getz Pharma Organized an Awareness Session and Mindful Activities on World Epilepsy Day
In observance of World Epilepsy Day, Getz Pharma organized an awareness session and mindful activities at its head office under the theme #EpilepsyPledge Turning Stories into Action. The day was dedicated to building greater understanding, compassion, and support for individuals living with epilepsy across all age groups.

The event brought together leading medical experts who engaged employees in an insightful discussion about epilepsy, its causes, symptoms, and the persistent myths surrounding the condition. This session aimed to correct misconceptions, encourage informed conversations, and create a more supportive environment for those affected by epilepsy.
The panel of experts included:
- Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik, Professor of Neurology, Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry, Karachi
- Dr. Raza Ur Rehman, Dean, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and Principal, Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry, Hamdard University, Karachi
- Dr. Altaf Ali Laghari, Assistant Professor, Section of Neurosurgery, Department of Surgery, Aga Khan University Medical College, Karachi
- Dr. M. Irfan Hashmat, Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology, Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi
Through an interactive question-and-answer segment, the experts addressed employees’ concerns, explained the realities of living with epilepsy, and highlighted the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment.
To foster mindfulness and engagement, various mindful activities were arranged. These activities not only promoted participation but also symbolized focus, balance, and connectivity. A Pledge Wall invited employees to share their personal Epilepsy Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to spreading awareness and supporting individuals living with epilepsy.

This reflected the company’s dedication to creating informed, empathetic spaces in the workplace, while inspiring collective action towards better understanding and support for neurological well-being.
