To support art and culture initiatives which enrich our society, foster healthy discussions and bring about social change, Getz Pharma sponsored ‘Suno’, a powerful play about mental illness, family and social pressures, performed at the Arts Council in Karachi from April 27-30, 2016. Presented by the Pakistan Mental Health Association, the play revolved around a young man suffering from bipolar disorder, and how he was treated by his family and society.
Mental illness is an issue often not openly discussed or recognized in society, because of which patients are not provided with the required and adequate treatment. In an effort to acknowledge and spread word about this illness, and to quell negative connotations, Getz Pharma supported the development of this play to make an effective contribution to the wellbeing of society.
