Getz Pharma strongly believes in promoting initiatives to further the access to, and quality of, education for the underprivileged. One avenue through which we do this is by supporting Zindagi Trust in the work that they undertake.
Zindagi Trust is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that strives to improve the quality of education available to the average Pakistani, and after seeing the quality of their work and remarkable results, we have been supporting them to deliver on their promise to the community.
Two of the government schools that they adopted and have revived, are SMB Fatima Jinnah Girls School, Nishter Road, Garden, Karachi, and Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls School, Karachi.
Getz Pharma does its part by supporting their work. Through sponsoring Early Childhood Education Certificate Programmes (ECE-CP) conducted by the Teacher’s Resource Center (TRC), we have funded the training of selected teachers employed at Zindagi Trust run schools, to ensure the highest quality of education, as well as job satisfaction. We also undertook a project to deliver the SMB School a fully functioning science lab along with revamping their outdoor spaces to make them safer and more student-friendly.
At Khatoon –e-Pakistan School, we documented the structural transformation of their primary school building to help them maintain a record and showcase their rapid transformation to students, parents and potential donors. At the same school, we embarked on an extensive landscaping project in October 2017 to set up a manicured garden. This garden took barren space laden with construction materials, hazardous materials, and loose dust, and turned it into a beautiful green space with aesthetically arranged plants, flowers, trees, benches and even a fountain. Aside from these projects we also regularly provide transport for students outings as this improves the schooling experience and allows them to be exposed to sites in the city through which they are learn and enjoy.
