In 2011, the Getz Pharma Philippines team contributed to the construction of the new headquarters of the Gabayng Landas Foundation (GALA), a non-government and non-profit organization which provides shelter, care and free education to children.
Office-based Getz Pharma employees pledged to support the cause by sharing time and resources with the children housed by GALA. In 2010, they celebrated the Christmas season by sharing relief goods and school supplies with the children, their parents, and the teachers.
Getz Pharma Philippines adopted the GALA community in 2009 when one of the worst tropical depressions hit the Philippines. Typhoon Ketsana (locally known as Ondoy), caused massive flooding in Metro Manila and other nearby provinces. Many Filipinos, including some of our colleagues at Getz Pharma Philippines, were either displaced or badly affected by the disaster.
That year, the team also organized a simple yet meaningful Christmas party for the children at the GALA Foundation’s main headquarters situated in the heart of Marikina City, one of the cities devastated by the typhoon.
