The inauguration ceremony of the 8th annual All-Karachi Korangi Baloch Challenge Cup football tournament was held at the Sharafi Goth football ground in Korangi, Karachi, on March 2nd, 2018, with the first match being played between Karachi Kickers and A1 Star.
A large crowd of supporters gathered to welcome the organizing team from Getz Pharma and the Korangi Baloch Football Club, District Malir. “On behalf of my club and all the teams, I thank Getz Pharma immensely for supporting this tournament every year. I hope that we can soon start playing at a provincial level and have teams from not just all over Sindh but Balochistan too, and continue taking this tournament forward,” said Haider Baloch, CEO Korangi Baloch Football Club.
The tournament will continue for 2 months with around 95 teams competing for the trophy. The final match will be played on 11 May, 2018 at the same venue.
Getz Pharma organizes the football tournament every year as part of its CSR initiatives . The tournament includes players from the Getz Pharma Football Academy team who are being educated and coached to get a chance to play with the divisional teams. Getz Pharma believes in promoting youth development through sports and other healthy, recreational activities. The tournament and club aims to provide these children a chance to be a part of the national teams and play all over the world.
