“I am delighted to see the industry (pharmaceutical) getting involved in the care of chronic patients, particularly in Parkinson’s disease. I think they have a lot to contribute, and I am very encouraged by the excellent quality of production today,” Dr. Nadir Ali Saeed shared his remarks post-event.

“World Parkinson’s Disease is an excellent opportunity to create public awareness, and I am thankful to Getz Pharma for having this platform where neurologists were invited to speak, along with psychiatrists, as depression, anxiety, and psychosis are also common symptoms of this disease. For instance, if there is a defect in the hardware, the software is also affected. Sessions like these can improve the quality of life for such patients,” shared Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Afridi.

‘There is a major gap in terms of awareness of Parkinson’s disease. We need to work on its awareness among the patients. A patient’s condition can become more stabilized if the disease is timely managed. We are making efforts to eliminate such gaps through these programs and by sharing the latest research with the patients as we progress. Since the government is lagging in this regard, private sector companies, particularly pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals can play a vital role,’ opined Dr. Irfan Hashmat.
