In the effort to raise awareness of Parkinson's disease, Getz Pharma organized a Public Awareness Session on Thursday, 8th April 2021. The objective of this session was to create awareness for the general public regarding Parkinson's disease. This session consisted of the esteemed panelists Prof. Dr. Mohammad Wasay, Neurologist at AKUH, Dr. Irfan Hashmat, Neurologist, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Afridi, Dean of JPMC and JSMU, Asst. Prof. Dr. Shazma Khan, Neurologist, and Dr. Nadir Ali Saeed, Chairperson Pakistan Parkinson's Society, and the session was moderated by Dr. Abdul Malik, Associate Prof. Neurology, LCMD.
Getz Pharma sponsored the 12th Karachi Literature Festival (Digital Edition) from 26th to 28th March 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event was held virtually and aired live on the social media platforms of the Karachi Literature Festival. At this event, Getz Pharma presented the awards for the best book in English Fiction, Urdu Prose, and Urdu Poetry, along with the EACPE Film Awards 2020.
Under strict COVID-19 SOPs, the signing ceremony between Getz Pharma and Aga Khan University Hospital was held on 2 April 2021. Khalid Mahmood, the Managing Director and CEO at Getz Pharma, and Mr. Firoz Rasul, President of the Aga Khan University signed this agreement, under which the Aga Khan University Outreach Health Network will ensure treatment of Hepatitis C and make it accessible to patients from low-income households across Pakistan, during the course of two years. Getz Pharma will be providing free of cost Hepatitis C medicines to the Aga Khan University Outreach Health Network with its goal of providing free treatment to 12,000 indigent patients in Karachi, Lahore, Larkana, Multan, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, through its 11 Outreach Medical Centers nationwide.
